A Quilter’s Quandary: Online Resources
The ladies of Sew Charming Crafts will show us how to find instructions or patterns for crafting projects. As well as telling us about printed patterns for purchase in the store, they will share some tips on how to find good online resources, and identify some pitfalls that you may want to avoid.
They will bring some of the store’s beautiful fabrics that have inspired them to search out different patterns and projects to showcase their versatility.
It’s also election day – don’t forget to vote!
Coffee and tea will be ready so bring your mug for Happy Hour from 12:30 to 1:30.
We thought we’d relax a bit at this last meeting before the Quilt Show and play some games. We’ll play some Strip Poker, so please bring three (3) quilting cotton fabric strips, each measuring 2.5″ wide by the WOF (width of fabric), in a Hallowe’en or Fall/Autumn theme. We will also play a couple of other games. There will be prizes!
We love to see what you’re making so bring something for Show and Tell at the end of the meeting.
As at every meeting, you’re welcome to come and gather from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. before the meeting starts, and visit with other Guild members. Guests are welcome to come and check us out prior to joining our Guild. You can attend two meetings as a guest before we ask you to join as a member. See the ‘About SQG ‘tab on this site.
Saskatoon Quilters’ Guild meets at Circle Drive Alliance Church, 3035 Preston Avenue South. Afternoon meetings begin at 1:30 p.m., following the 12:30 to 1:30 gathering time. Evening meetings begin at 7:30 p.m., following the 6:30 to 7:30 gathering time. Come and join us!
Come and hear Teresa Styles and Helen Andersen tell you all about their trip to the Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton Missouri. They will show photos and tell you Jenny Doan’s story.
For Show and Tell, bring projects that you have made from precuts or templates.
Don’t forget to come early for Happy Hour at 12:30 p.m.
Sharron Schoenfeld will talk about her journey from Fibre Art and Quilting to Painting. She will bring examples of her art to show along with her talk, so come to the meeting and see what she makes. She is a past guild member and was very active during her time with the guild.
There will be Bring and Brag at the end of the evening.
