We’ve barely begun all the new projects inspired by the quilts on display at our “Making Waves” show last October, but plans are already afoot for our next show.  It will be held at Prairieland Park Hall E on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October26, 2013.

Now is the time to submit your nomination for The Feature Quilter, as she will be introduced at our June potluck! See the next newsletter for all the details.

Hello Saskatoon Quilters' Guild Members,

I am interested in hearing from any members who are experiencing any difficulties with arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome in their hands, and/or any persons having difficulty pursuing quilting tasks due to declining vision. These symptoms may be affecting members who are 50+ and/or have symptoms due to repetitive use of their hands when quilting or doing other tasks involving repetitive use of the hands or fingers. If there is enough interest I will investigate the possibility of setting up one of our afternoon programs to address these problems. We could also approach it from the angle of exercising or using ergonomic methods to prevent these problems in younger members also. Please contact me
at my e-mail address: ajrhodes@shaw.ca or
phone me at 373-3104 or
talk to me at one of the meetings.

Traffic Detours: Preston & Circle by the Church

The next phase of construction at the intersection of Preston and Circle has begun.

  • The West-bound lanes of Circle are closed at Preston.  Traffic is detoured to what used to be the East-bound lanes.  There is two-way traffic on this part of Circle.
  • The intersection of Preston at Circle is also closed.  If you are going North on Preston, from the Church, you will need to detour West at Circle to the first set of lights and then turn to your right and come back East to Preston.  It is easier than it sounds.
  • This is a map of the detour as it looked on Thur. Oct. 27.  Click on the map to see a larger image.map
  • Thank you to Dorothy Middleton for letting us know.
